Hi~ Thank you for adding my blog to your blogroll (Apraxia Talk). I just wanted you to know that I'm taking it down in a week or so, and will go back to posting all of my special needs & apraxia topics on my regular blog, 5 Kids and a Dog. If you go to my AT blog I have an explanation. Thanks!

Thank you SB. That, I think, is some good advice. We have a follow up appointment for Ryland near the end of this month. Hopefully, it's all nothing, but just in case. He has been feeling a lot better this week. More to come....

Hi, My son has had 2 MRI's and the second one showed something that, as it was explained to me, intrauterine brain damage. (I adopted so I dont know the history) I was told that my sons severe global apraxia stems from this and that because of the part of his brain that is affected, seizures could present at any time in his life. Fortunately we have not had any thus far but I would recommend an MRI if it is highly suspected that they were seizures. Then at least he can be monitored by a neurologist and if you have (hopefully not) any more episodes they can check to see if there are changes.

I too, can empathize with not knowing what happened or where they are hurt when your child cant tell you. I will keep him/your family in my thoughts!

Oh how scary! He does not look like a happy boy at all in the pictures. I know if my son had to go through that he would be in a sheer panic and probably bolt out the door. Hopefully you'll get answers soon!

I cannot believe you have FIVE children! Sheesh! They all are beautiful and brilliant in their own right. Props to you and Melanie for homeschooling them.
Patience and love with Ryland. Its like peeing in a cup- you just can't do it when someone is watching and expecting!

Just sayin'.

What a coincidence, Jason. My two year old was born in December 2005, was 9 weeks early, and was in the NICU (UVRMC)for five weeks. Did you go to the reunion today?
